Un clásico es Stomp! de The Brother Johnson, que si algunos recuerdan, aparece en una variopinta celebración en la película Si, Señor protagonizada por Jim Carrey. Y este es un tema que trae recuerdos y/o alegría a cualquiera que la escuche. Es como una inyección de buena onda que te hace reconocer que estar vivo ya es una bendición por si sola.
Estos americanos que lanzaron esta joyita por allá en 1980 para el álbum Light Up The Night supieron fundir la música disco, el funk y el espíritu afro-americano de una forma que hasta el día de hoy parece actual y masticable hasta para un liviano auditor de cumbia villera o un fanático del Grindcore más brutal.
El clip es muy entretenido también, y tiene todo ese encanto de los negros alegres que bailaban y gozaban en aquellas noches de fines de los 70 y principios de los 80. Eso si, lo que me preocupó del video la primera vez que lo vi, fue el final en donde dos integrantes de esta banda iban en un auto disfrutando su música por las calles y yo rogando que no apareciera el sonido de una baliza, y luego una pareja de caucásicos policias haciéndolos bajar y no por las buenas. Algo que por cierto, no ha cambiado mucho que digamos.
