Black Sabbath - Heaven And Hell

El disco Heaven And Hell de Black Sabbath es para mi una de las grandes obras del Rock Pesado. Y creo que la inclusión del excelente vocalista Ronnie James Dio le dió a esta agrupación el aire oscuro que Tony Iommi (n. 19 de Febrero de 1948) no pudo retratar con el multifacético Ozzy Osbourne quien siempre he creído subió sus puntos a nivel musical sólo después de dejar este grupo.

Sin embargo, la disputa entre quien es el más grande vocalista que haya tenido esta banda sólo terminará cuando el mundo se acabe. Personalmente creo que Ozzy le dió carisma a Black Sabbath pero Ronnie James Dio le entregó un gran profesionalismo y renovada energía que Iommi nunca más pudo encontrar en ningún otro cantante.

Se dice que el brillante tema título Heaven And Hell, mítico emblema de esta agrupación, es el favorito de toda la vida de este vocalista quien también escribió enteramente las letras de este disco. Y esta canción habla acerca de la Iglesia Católica y el poder que ha llegado a tener sobre las personas diciendo que es lo bueno, que es lo malo y también cambiando la historia o los hechos según le acomode para nunca perder el control sobre sus fieles.

Entonces el autor expresa que mientras más alejado se esté de ese poder, más cercano se estará de la verdad acerca del Cielo y el Infierno. Quienes realmente tengan los ojos abiertos se darán cuenta que esos dos supuestos destinos finales existen aqui, ahora en el presente, y no en ningún otro inventado futuro lugar.
