Johnny Hates Jazz - Shattered Dreams

Si Shattered Dreams no es el tema más famoso de Johnny Hates Jazz entonces debería ser el más tocado en las radio emisoras. Fiel reflejo de toda una época llena de colores y efectos, este es un tema que sigue la temática impuesta por esta banda, la que escribía letras tristes, pero con un sonido bailable y positivo.

Este single que apareció en el primer disco, llamado Turn Back The Clock (1988) también debió ser una especie de premonición para todos sus fanáticos quienes vieron sus sueños hecho pedacitos al enterarse que esta banda desaparecería apenas editara su segundo disco en 1991. Y es que ya venían medio mal después de la huída del vocalista, Clark Datchler (n. 27 de Marzo de 1964).

Y de que habla este tema: Pues es un tipo quejándose porque alguien, seguramente la mujer que quería, le hizo creer algo que en realidad no era cierto. En este caso, el amor y fidelidad de ella. Pero las letras también deja entrever que su gran error fue el haber dado por sentado la relación, lo que finalmente le pasó la cuenta para dejarlo con el corazón destrozado.
