Kool & The Gang - Cherish

Al escuchar Cherish se me viene inmediatamente a la cabeza la Radio Infinita y una repetida publicidad de la misma emisora, que por cierto es toda una especialista en clásicos de los años 80. Esta canción fue compuesta por los también clásicos del Funk y el R&B, Kool & The Gang, para el álbum Emergency de 1984, que también incluía la exitosa y rítmica Fresh.

Las letras de esta canción no tiene nada especial que interpretar más que el directo mensaje de amor que emana por todos lados. Y aquel mensaje habla de cuidar a tu pareja y hacerle saber día tras día cuanto la quieres o amas. Todo esto porque quizás el día de mañana ya no esté junto a ti y no tengas que verte en la situación de lamentar el no haberle expresado todo el cariño que sentías por ella cuando tuviste el tiempo de hacerlo.

El protagonista de esta canción también recalca el aprovechar el momento para crear lindas situaciones, puesto que el tiempo pasa demasiado rápido. Una caminata de la mano, una mirada, o un gesto tierno y amable son acciones simples, pero realmente gratificantes. Y es que fortalecen a la pareja enriqueciendo al que las entrega como al que las recibe, porque se está apreciando y protegiendo al amor, tan sufrido y difícil de encontrar y mantener a veces.
