El cantante Inglés John Waite (n. 4 de Julio de 1952) se hizo mundialmente conocido gracias al single When I See You Smile del grupo Bad English, que incluía en sus filas a miembros de Journey. Pero el ya tenía cierto camino recorrido como solista y miembro fundador de la banda The Babys.
Su voz melodiosa y suave le ayudó a tener algunos hits en solitario, entre los que se encuentra la conocida Missing You, su gran éxito. Y esa misma voz le impidió entrar al proyecto Hardline del guitarrista Neal Schon (n. 27 de Febrero de 1954 ) quien no lo encontró apto para ponerse en el lugar de un Hard Rockero vocalista.
Mi canción favorita de Waite es I'm Still In Love que apareció en Ignition, su primer disco en solitario. Recuerdo haberla escuchado muchas veces en la Radio Infinita, y fue una de las primeras canciones que descargué apenas tuve oportunidad de bajar música en Internet.
La letra: Cuenta las peripecias de un sujeto que recién ha sido botado por su pareja. Él reconoce que ha perdido mucho sin ella y que ahora se encuentra totalmente desorientado. Aún asi, el amor que todavía le tiene a esta mujer, le hace creer que el tiempo le demostrará a esta chica que lo mejor que puede pasar es volver a estar junto al hombre que la ama de verdad.
