Ugly Kid Joe - Neighbor

Después del exitoso primer EP, los juveniles Ugly Kid Joe se lanzan con America's Least Wanted, un disco que fue igual de bien recibido por sus ya enganchados adeptos de todo el mundo. Recuerdo cuando compré el cassette y me agradaba imaginar ver la bandera chilena atrás del mañoso chico Pepe vestido de la Estatua de la Libertad .

El tema Neighbor fue el primer single para el disco America's Least Wanted de 1992 pero al menos en mi país no tuvo el éxito esperado. En realidad, apareció creo que unas dos semanas en los rankings y casi lo vi en el programa Extrajóvenes en una sección en donde la gente debía llamar para elegir que video clip deseaban ver al final del programa. Perdió rotundamente frente a una canción que no recuerdo.

Y de que habla Neighbor: Es una canción que trata acerca de una familia completamente maleducada, desaseada y vulgar que llega a vivir cerca de las típicas bien compuestitas familias norteamericanas que nos presentan los comerciales y la televisión y cuya perfecta vida en sus perfectos barrios se ve totalmente alterada por este suceso. Cabe destacar la inclusión de Julia Sweeney interpretando al andrógino Pat de Saturday Night Live tanto en la canción como en el videoclip.
