Gorefest - Erase

Los Holandeses Death Metaleros Gorefest, aparecieron y sonaron en mis oídos gracias al gentil auspicio de HeadBangers Ball de MTV, en donde tuvieron una rotación bastante decente gracias al video clip del single Erase, del disco del mismo nombre el cual apareció en 1994.

Lo que más me llamó la atención de esta banda fue lo tremendamente técnica y digerible que era a pesar de pertenecer a un género bastante definido, y obviamente, poseer un vocalista muy agresivo y potente. Incluso, llegué a pensar que si el vocalista se le hubiera ocurrido cantar como un tipo normal, probablemente estos ya habrían sido millonarios hace bastante tiempo ya.

Ellos también lo pensaron asi y cambiaron para el siguiente disco y el posterior a ese. Desgraciadamente, en vez de dosificar la voz se preocuparon de disminuir los decibeles, lo que les valió perder a una gran cantidad de seguidores, no vender discos y separarse sin remedio en 1999. A pesar de eso, volvieron a reunirse en el 2004 dejando en claro que ya no cometerían de nuevo el error de traicionar sus raices musicales. Algo que se paga demasiado caro en el mundo del Rock Pesado.

Y de que habla Erase: Pues es un tema que invita a ser uno mismo, aún a pesar de ser catalogado como un loco. Y también nos dice que las reglas y el orden son sólo artimañas para no sacar todo tu potencial y decidir por ti mismo el rumbo de tu existencia. Rebelde mensaje que no pudo ser probado por los mismos Gorefest, quienes al seguir sus propias reglas y no continuar con un orden, se fueron directamente al abismo.
