Little River Band - The Night Owls

Little River Band es un grupo musical Australiano de vasta trayectoria que se volvió famoso por su Rock AOR armonizado por unas voces realmente espectaculares. Mi canción favorita de esta banda es The Night Owls, tema del año 1981 que tuvo la particularidad de ser cantada no por el vocalista, si no por el bajista Americano Wayne Nelson quien 25 años después se convirtió en el cantante oficial.

The Night Owls tiene una fuerza sorprendente, con mucho Rock insistiendo en unas guitarras que encajan perfectamente con Wayne Nelson y sus amigos que lo hacen espectacular a mi gusto. Y hablando de energía, este tema se refiere a aquellas personas que gustan de la noche y todos sus encantos porque ahí es donde se sienten más vitales y quizás realizados socialmente. Varios se sentirán identificados con este tema dedicado a los bohemios o buhos nocturnos que son muchos en este mundo.

Y las letras, hablan de un sujeto ya curtido en el ambiente de la noche, aparentemente muy atractivo y que sabe como conquistar a alguien y disfrutar con los demás amparado por la oscuridad, la música y el humo que le ofrece el bar al que está acostumbrado a visitar. Sin embargo, eso es todo lo que ofrece al resto, pues cuando llega el amanecer sólo tiende a desaparecer nuevamente. Quizás este tema hable de algún vampiro muy sociable, un hombre que no quiere compromisos serios o tal vez los miembros de Little River Band conocieron al Negro Piñera en persona y le dedicaron esta canción.
