No recuerdo como conocí al fallecido Van Stepheson (4 de Noviembre de 1956 - 8 de Abril de 2001,) Y si quieren saberlo, pues deberían darme algunos días para pensarlo. Sólo sé que tengo una canción muy atractiva de él, que tampoco no sé de donde diablos la bajé.

What The Big Girls Do es un tema dedicado a una jovencita que cumple el sueño de muchas otras al convertirse en una especie de Lolita. Es decir, una niña que aún siendo menor de edad le gusta hacer cosas de grandes como estar con un hombre mayor que no sólo la llevará de paseo y le comprará un globito con forma de corazón. Y esto provoca la envidia de sus compañeras que hablan a su espalda no porque son decentes, si no porque le faltan oportunidades.

Las letras también podrían hablar del inconsciente colectivo (99% los padres), que cuando se trata de una relación entre una joven y un hombre mayor, siempre verán a la chica como una especie de angel inocente que no tiene noción alguna de la sexualidad y que ha sido arrastrada sin piedad por una especie de sátiro a su oscuro mundo libinidoso. Van Stephenson creía que los adolescentes saben lo que quieren y con quien se meten. Y si me preguntan, yo pienso exactamente lo mismo.
