Ambrosia - You're The Only Woman

Siempre tuve la impresión que los integrantes de Ambrosia eran músicos negros. Es que el sonido y sobretodo la voz del cantante David Pack (n. 15 de 1952) eran muy similares a Kool & The Gang, quienes hay que reconocer eran un poco más alegres en sus interpretaciones. Ambrosia tiene un estilo característico que hace que la mayoría de sus canciones tengan una atmósfera bastante relajante, lo que no quiere decir que sean buenos para hacerte dormir.

Hay un tema en especial llamado You're The Only Woman que habla acerca de esas típicas peleas desatadas por los celos. Aqui el protagonista le explica a su chica que no tiene nada que temer pues el nunca la engañaría con nadie, ya que ella es la única mujer con la que ha soñado y también la única que ha amado. Además, él le recalca que es tanto el tiempo que llevan juntos que ni siquiera debería preocuparse por el futuro, puesto que él nunca la dejará. Sin embargo, al final de la canción este sujeto muy sutilmente lanza una frase que da para sospechar: Bueno.... ahora eres la única mujer.

Se podría pensar que está mintiendo, pero analizándola friamente creo que son la palabras propias de una persona que sabe amar. A mi parecer las personas más felices son las que aman con todo el corazón y que después de una ruptura, por muy grande que sea, son capaces de volver a querer como si nunca se hubieran enamorado. Entonces, este hombre reconoce en cierta forma haberle dedicado a otra mujer la misma canción. Pero demuestra que tiene la sanidad mental para entregársela sinceramente a la que ahora es su compañera.
