No sé cuando ni en que momento de mi vida escuché Live and Learn de Joe Public. De lo único que estoy seguro es que esta canción siempre ha rondado en mi cabeza como muchas otras que publicaré aquí y que quizás sólo yo recuerde también.

Este grupo que practicaba el New jack swing (típico sonido de principios de los 90 - rap, sintetizadores, guitarras, soul) lanzó en 1992 el álbum que los llevaría a la fama gracias al single Live And Learn que alcanzó a llegar al puesto #4 del Billboard. Sin embargo, esta pequeña notoriedad no les bastó para que su segundo y último disco (Easy Come, Easy Go - 1994) tuviera al menos el mismo éxito. Pero bueno, lo que fácil llega, fácil se va y no lo digo yo, lo dijeron ellos mismos como presagio en el título de su segundo esfuerzo.

Y de que habla esta canción: Pues de apreciar la educación como el mejor medio para surgir y tener éxito en esta vida. Si eres capaz de evitar todas las influencias negativas que te bombardean cada día y sigues tu propio camino, te estarás demostrando cuanto vales. No sacas nada con dártelas de duro ante los demás si en el fondo eres un ignorante sin educación ni valores.
