Bruce Dickinson - The Tower

Bruce Dickinson (n. 7 de Agosto de 1958) es aquel inconfundible cantante de los Ingleses Iron Maiden, banda de la cual no soy un acérrimo fanático o seguidor. Sin embargo, debo reconocer que gracias a su historia y legado son una de las más grandes agrupaciones que jamás hayan existido en el mundo del Heavy Metal. Gigantes también por la buenísima voz de este cantante y compositor.

A pesar del gran éxito, Dickinson nunca se conformó con ser sólo la voz de Maiden. Lo haría demostrándole a todos que podía escribir novelas pilotear aviones profesionalmente y también incursionar en la actuación, entonces porqué no tener su propia banda. Como resultado, desde 1990 hasta la fecha se han editado diez placas bajo su nombre. Y en lo personal, yo llegué a conocer su trabajo en solitario cuando escuchaba sin parar mi querida Radio Concierto. De aquellos temas destaco The Tower, que aparecería en el disco The Chemical Wedding de 1998.

Y de que habla esta canción: Aunque por la música más parece un himno de batalla, en realidad se refiere a los astrólogos, aqui nombrados como paganos que dividieron el cielo en doce divisiones o los doce signos del zodíaco. Además, todo lo que después se menciona son referencias a los personajes de las cartas del tarot. Como por ejemplo la torre, el ahorcado o la luna por nombrar algunos.
